This policy describes how My Gel Studio (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our iOS / iPadOS app for nail technicians and their clients. We keep it plain-language; technical details on Apple services follow below.

My Gel Studio is operated for the purposes of providing the mobile application and related services described on this site. For data-protection questions, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.
What the app does (in brief)
My Gel Studio helps technicians manage gel colour libraries, connect with clients using a tech code, exchange messages, manage appointments, and (where available) use features such as augmented reality (“AR”) previews to visualise colours. Clients can browse shades they are permitted to see, message their technician, and interact with booking flows offered by their technician. Technician-only features may require an Apple App Store subscription.
Information we process
We process information you provide and information generated when you use the app, including through Apple CloudKit (see below). This typically includes:
Account & profile
- Name, email address, and (if you provide it) phone number
- Account type (technician or client)
- For technicians: business / company name where collected in-app
- Credentials and identifiers required to use your Apple / iCloud-backed account with the app
How you use the service
- Colour library data you or your linked technician create (brands, shade names, categories, notes, images or colour metadata, favourites, availability flags, etc.)
- Relationships between clients and technicians (for example when a client requests access with a tech code and you approve or manage that connection)
- Messages sent between clients and technicians within the app
- Appointments and related notes or calendar integration where you use those features
- Notifications preferences and tokens needed to deliver push notifications where enabled
- Diagnostics & device context that Apple or the app may collect in the usual course of operating an iOS app (such as device type, OS version, app version, crash or performance data where enabled)
Subscriptions & payments
We do not receive your card or bank details. Paid technician subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. We may receive limited information from Apple about subscription status (for example active plan, tier, or trial eligibility) so we can unlock the correct features in the app.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve My Gel Studio
- Authenticate users, link clients to technicians where you choose, and enforce access rules (including subscription-based technician features)
- Sync your data across devices signed in with the same Apple identity as required for CloudKit
- Send service-related communications and (where permitted) push notifications
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect rights and safety
We do not sell your personal information.
Legal bases (UK / EEA visitors & users)
Where UK GDPR / GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of: performance of a contract (providing the app you requested); legitimate interests (securing the service, improving features, and supporting technicians and clients in a proportionate way); and where required legal obligation or consent (for example for optional marketing or certain cookies on this website, if we add them). You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and port data, and to complain to a supervisory authority.
Apple, CloudKit & storage
App data is structured to work with Apple CloudKit and your Apple ID / iCloud account. Apple provides the cloud infrastructure; data is handled under Apple’s terms and privacy framework. You should review Apple’s Privacy Policy for how Apple processes Apple ID and iCloud data. We do not operate our own database as a replacement for that core sync model for the in-app features described above.
Sharing
We share information only as needed:
- With technicians or clients you connect with in line with the features (for example messages, library items you expose to a linked client, or booking details you choose to share)
- With service providers strictly necessary to run the product (for example Apple for App Store and CloudKit, and infra used for this marketing website)
- For legal reasons if we believe disclosure is required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security
Retention
We retain information as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account or data subject to the app’s deletion flows, we will delete or anonymise personal data unless we must keep limited records for legal, security, or dispute resolution purposes.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International transfers
Apple and other processors may process data in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States, or other regions. Where transfers apply, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required by law.

This policy covers the My Gel Studio app and this marketing website. WordPress and other CMS tools sometimes suggest generic “privacy policy” text about public comments, Gravatar, visitor media uploads, and subscriber profiles. That wording reflects a typical public blog and is not how we intend this site to work for visitors. The following describes what actually applies here.
Contact
If you email us (for example at support@mygelstudio.com), we process the address, contents of your message, and any information you choose to send, so we can reply and handle support. We keep those messages only as long as needed for that purpose and legitimate records.
Comments, visitor accounts, and Gravatar
We do not run a public comment area or open registration on this site for app customers. We do not use the standard “leave a comment” workflow for marketing visitors, and we do not ask you to create a website account here to use the app. If we add features such as comments, forums, or contact forms in the future, we will describe them in an update to this policy.
Media
Nail colour and library content you create is handled in the app, as described above. This website is not intended for visitors to upload image galleries that would be published for others to download. If you are a site administrator editing pages, follow good practice and avoid publishing images with sensitive embedded location (EXIF) data unless you intend to.
Cookies
Public visitors may receive essential cookies (or similar technologies) needed for security, basic site operation, or our host’s infrastructure. People who log in to WordPress to manage this site receive standard session cookies so the dashboard works (for example authentication and screen options). Those behave like any WordPress admin session: they support editing only and are not used to profile app users browsing the marketing pages. If we add non-essential cookies (such as analytics or advertising), we will update this policy and use consent where UK / EEA law requires.
Embedded content
Articles or pages on this site may include embedded content (for example videos or social embeds). Embedded content from another site behaves as if you visited that site directly and may use cookies or collect information under that third party’s policy.
Who we share website data with
We use service providers needed to host and operate the website (for example hosting, DNS, and email delivery). We do not sell personal information. If you use a “forgot password” flow for a WordPress administrator account on this installation, WordPress may include technical information such as your IP address in the reset email, as part of normal WordPress operation.
How long we keep website-related data
We do not retain public comment threads on this marketing site. Administrator WordPress accounts follow normal profile and security retention. Support correspondence is retained as described under Contact. Backup or server logs may be kept for a limited period by our providers for security and reliability.

The same UK / EEA rights summarised under Legal bases above apply to personal information we process about you in connection with this website, subject to exceptions for legal, security, or administrative needs.
Automated checks
If we enable spam or abuse screening on any future form or submission feature, content may be checked by automated services under their terms.
